The documentation did say that it does not have full ANSI SQL support, but it is free. Other possible solutions were: One person recommended vServe found at http://abDataTools.com/ for use with Valentina (http://www.paradigmasoft.com/ ) to allow standard SQL commands. Valentina can also be used alone, but it does not have full support of standard SQL. www.macsql.com has some links to different SQL resources (such as mySQL), but I have not had time to look into these links. Yet others suggested just buying Mac OS X Beta. If it wasn't so close to the ending time for the Beta, I'd consider it, but I also learned something else. mySQL does not support all of the standard ANSI SQL commands so I don't see a reason to plunk down thirty bucks to get a copy of OS X Beta just so I can run mySQL for a while especially when dtFSQL may do the trick. Someone else recommended checking out www.macdirectory.com. They have a couple programs listed there, but I was more interested in getting out a reply rather than testing and researching every program as I'm planning on trying dtFSQL first. Primebase (www.primebase.com) is yet another recommendation for SQL, but I could not get a price as I did not want to risk getting junk mail by registering my e-mail address. It is supposed to be fairly technical though. |
